Best Sports Bars in Saigon (2026)

Two things decide where you watch a game in Saigon: whether the bar has the rights to your sport, and what time it kicks off here. Pham Viet Chanh in Binh Thanh is the sports bar street — Rafters at 86 and The Rabbit Hole at 111, a two-minute walk apart — and if one hasn’t got the match, the other usually has.

Six bars below, all checked as trading in September 2026. Three give Saigon Scene members 10% off, and one of those does 50% off draught and cocktails from 4–7pm every day, which is the best pre-match hour in the city.

1. Rafters Sports Bar

86 Pham Viet Chanh, Ward 19, Binh Thanh

Every major game, live and loud, with an easygoing local crowd rather than a tourist one. The reason to start here is the hour before kick-off: 50% off draught beers and cocktails, 4–7pm, every day, and the pool table is free.

Between that and the member discount, this is comfortably the cheapest way to watch a match properly in Saigon.

Best for: the pre-match hour, and staying for the game.

2. The Rabbit Hole – Irish Sports Bar

111 Pham Viet Chanh, Ward 19, Binh Thanh and 38 Quoc Huong, Thao Dien

A proper Irish bar, and now on both sides of the river — the Binh Thanh original opened in 2021, Thao Dien followed in 2025. Outdoor seating with big screens, a pro pool table and a professional dartboard, which makes it the one that still works when the match is dull.

Two locations means two sets of rights, so if the Binh Thanh room hasn’t got your game, ask about Thao Dien.

Best for: Six Nations, GAA, and anything Irish.

3. High Tide

154 Nguyen Van Huong, Thao Dien, Thu Duc

Multiple screens, cold beer and the best wings in Thao Dien, which is a real claim rather than a throwaway one — people go for the wings whether or not there’s a game on.

Best for: watching in Thao Dien and eating properly while you do.

4. Phatty’s Sports Bar & Grill

46–48 Ton That Thiep, District 1

The District 1 institution, and the answer if you’re staying in the centre and don’t want to cross town for a match. Multiple screens, a long drinks list and pub food that holds up at 2am.

Best for: watching without leaving District 1.

5. Evita Sports Bar

230a Nguyen Van Huong, An Khanh, Thu Duc

A long-standing Thao Dien fixture with a settled regular crowd — the sort of bar where the staff know which game you’re there for. Less polished than the newer rooms and better company for it.

Best for: a regular spot rather than a night out.

6. 7 Thao Dien

Thao Dien, Thu Duc (formerly Buddha Bar)

The widest sporting range on this list — rugby and cricket alongside football, which narrows the field considerably in Saigon. Many screens, big garden, and it fills for anything involving Australia or South Africa.

Best for: rugby, cricket, and sports nobody else is showing.

What time your game actually starts in Saigon

Vietnam is UTC+7, which puts European sport late and American sport in the middle of the night. Roughly:

• Premier League 3pm Saturday (UK) — 9pm in Saigon during British summer time, 10pm in winter.
• Premier League 12:30pm Saturday — 6:30pm here, 7:30pm in winter. The civilised one.
• Champions League 8pm midweek — 2am here, 3am in winter. Bars that stay open for it are the exception, so ring ahead.
• NFL Sunday 1pm Eastern — 1am Monday in Saigon. This is a commitment.
• Six Nations and rugby internationals land in the evening, which is why they draw the biggest crowds here.

Clocks change in Europe and North America but not in Vietnam, so everything shifts an hour later here between late October and late March. Check before you set an alarm.

Before you go

• Ring ahead for the big ones. Rights are split across broadcasters and no bar has everything. A two-minute call saves a wasted trip.
• Book a table for a derby or a final. Thao Dien and Pham Ngu Lao both fill early.
• Pham Viet Chanh is the hedge. Rafters and The Rabbit Hole are a short walk apart, so if one hasn’t got the game the other probably has.
• Happy hour usually ends at 7pm, which is before most European kick-offs. Arrive early and the round before the match is half price.

Dtwo Sports Pub, which appeared in the previous version of this guide, closed in August 2024 and has been removed — thanks to Tom and Thuy for the years. Two further venues have gone because their current details could not be confirmed.
