Best Barber Shops in Saigon (2026)

A haircut in Saigon costs anywhere from 70,000₫ to 600,000₫, and the difference is not really about the cut — it’s about whether you want a chair, a conversation and a hot towel, or a chair, a wine bar and an hour of your life back.

Five barbershops, all checked as trading in September 2026, covering that whole range with real prices and addresses. If you have just moved here and don’t yet know where to go, start with the price table and work backwards from your budget.

1. House of Barbaard

Sofitel Saigon Plaza, 17 Le Duan, Ben Nghe, District 1

The most expensive haircut in the city and the one people book for an occasion. A cut is 400,000₫ and includes homemade Dutch snacks and a drink; a beard trim is 250,000₫; cut and shave together is 600,000₫.

Downstairs is Ministry of Men, a wine bar with tapas and live acoustic music, which is the actual proposition — you are buying an afternoon, not a trim. Worth doing once even if it isn’t your regular.

Best for: a wedding, a big meeting, or the first cut after you land.

2. Le Barbier de Saigon

Thao Dien, Thu Duc

Thao Dien’s vintage barbershop, and the expat default on that side of the river. Traditional and modern grooming both taken seriously — hair, beard, moustache and skin — with the classic pomp-and-fade repertoire done properly rather than approximately.

Best for: beard work, and anyone who wants the same barber every month.

3. Ironcap Barbershop

District 10, Binh Thanh and Tan Phu

Three branches outside the tourist districts, which keeps the prices sensible and the clientele local. The house style leans modern — textured crops, skin fades, the current stuff — done by people who cut this every day rather than occasionally for a foreigner.

Best for: a contemporary cut without District 1 pricing.

4. Vu Tri Barbershop

Branches in District 3, District 6, District 8 and Go Vap

The most widely spread barbershop on this list, with cuts from 100,000₫ and everything else — beard trims, shaves, styling — between 50,000₫ and 200,000₫. Clean, modern rooms with enough vintage detail to feel like a barbershop rather than a salon.

The advantage of a chain like this is that the standard holds up wherever you go, which matters if you move house.

Best for: a reliable cut near wherever you actually live.

5. 4RAU Barber Shop

634 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 10, District 10

The value pick, and the reason to include it is the shave rather than the cut. Haircuts start around 70,000₫, beard trims 50,000₫, and a premium hot towel shave is 120,000₫ — a fifth of what the same thing costs on Le Duan.

Best for: a hot towel shave, and finding out what a Saigon barbershop is actually like.

What a haircut costs in Saigon

Three bands, and they are further apart than in most cities:

• Local barbershop — 70,000–150,000₫. A cut, a wash, usually a shoulder massage. 4RAU and Vu Tri sit here.
• Expat-facing barbershop — 200,000–350,000₫. English spoken, appointments, beard work. Le Barbier and Ironcap.
• Hotel barbershop — 400,000₫+. House of Barbaard, and you’re paying for the room as much as the cut.

A hot towel shave runs 120,000–250,000₫ depending on which band you’re in — a bigger spread than the haircuts. If you have never had a straight-razor shave, this is the cheapest city in which to try one. Prices checked September 2026.

Getting the cut you actually want

• Bring a photo. The vocabulary gap is real even in English-speaking shops, and “short back and sides” means different things here.
• Say a number. Clipper guards are universal. Naming the grade removes most of the risk.
• Expect the extras. Many local shops include a wash, a shoulder and neck massage and sometimes ear cleaning as standard. You can decline, but they aren’t upselling you.
• Book at the top end, walk in at the bottom. House of Barbaard and Le Barbier want appointments. Local shops rarely need one.
• Tip is not expected but 20,000–50,000₫ is normal and remembered.
