Tips for happy hour in Saigon

• Catch sunset from a rooftop. The sun sets around 5.30pm to 6.15pm all year, so a rooftop happy hour that starts at 5pm gives you golden hour at half price. See our best rooftop bars in Saigon.
• Go on a weekday. Most deals run Monday to Friday, and bars are quieter before 7pm.
• Check the small print. Hotel bars often add service charge and VAT, and many deals cover drinks by the glass but not bottles or signature cocktails.
• Plan around the rain. From May to November, afternoon storms can close rooftop terraces for an hour or two, so have an indoor bar nearby.
