The best pool bar in Ho Chi Minh City is The Brix in Thao Dien. It has a big pool and sun loungers, and you can swim there just by turning up to eat and drink. It is a Saigon Scene partner, and our co-founder Olly calls it “the ultimate pool spot in Thao Dien”.
The question nobody else answers is whether you can actually get in the water. At most hotel rooftops in District 1 you can drink beside the pool but not swim in it unless you are staying. So the eight bars below are split three ways: places where anyone can swim, places where you drink by the pool, and places where the pool is only something to look at.

1. The Brix
The Brix is the one place on this list built around the pool rather than next to it. There is a full-size pool in a garden of palms, loungers around it, and an indoor restaurant to retreat to when the heat wins. The kitchen has pit smokers turning out pizzas and smoked meats, and seafood platters come out to the poolside tables.
It changes character through the day. Afternoons are for the loungers. From late afternoon there are DJs and events, and Olly’s warning is fair: “you can turn up for a couple of hours and somehow end up spending the whole day there.”
Happy hour runs 4pm to 8pm, Tuesday to Sunday, with discounted cocktails, beer and wine. Pool hours and the rules for children can change with the season, so message them before you go if you are planning a swim.

2. Mia Saigon
A boutique hotel on the river in Thao Dien that sells the pool to outsiders properly. The Daycation Bliss pass is 1,499,000₫, but 1,000,000₫ of that comes back as credit to spend at Kitchen by the River, on cocktails at The Muse or at the spa, so the pool itself costs you about half a million. It runs 8am to 7pm, Monday to Thursday only, and the hotel says vouchers are limited, so book ahead. Mia calls it the longest saltwater pool in the city.
Stay on for the sunset. The Muse, the rooftop bar, does buy one get one free on cocktails from 4pm to 7pm every day, according to its happy hour page.

3. Pullman Saigon Centre Pool Bar
The cheapest proper swim in the centre. A pool day pass is 400,000₫++ for adults and 200,000₫++ for children aged 6 to 11. The pool is outdoors on Level 6 and open 6am to 10pm, and the Pool Bar beside it opens 10:30am to 7pm daily.
Prices on the April 2026 Pool Bar menu are reasonable for a five-star hotel: classic pool cocktails such as a mojito or piña colada at 200,000₫, an Aperol Spritz at 230,000₫, Tiger or Heineken at 150,000₫ and wine from 165,000₫ a glass, all before tax and service.

4. ROOTY at The Myst Dong Khoi
A 24-metre infinity pool on the 15th floor, with the bar right beside it and the city all around. The operator’s own advice is to reserve a table, especially around sunset.
Cocktails are 290,000₫ plus 5% service charge and tax on the August 2026 menu. The bar is open 7am to 1am. Neither the hotel nor the bar says whether non-guests can swim, so treat it as a drink by the pool and ask reservations if you want to get in.

5. Villa Sông Pool Bar
A riverside boutique hotel on the same street as the Thảo Điền water bus wharf, with a 30-metre saltwater pool set in gardens that run down to the river. It is quieter than The Brix and better for a long lunch or a drink at dusk than for a party.
The pool terrace bar is open 6:30am to 10pm. On the hotel’s pool menu, cocktails such as an Aperol Spritz or a mojito are around 220,000₫ and Tiger draught about 100,000₫, subject to service and VAT. That menu dates from August 2025, so allow for a rise. The hotel does not publish whether non-guests can swim.

6. Phiêu, KiN Hotel Thi Sach
A 12th-floor rooftop pool bar that leans young and loud, with themed pool parties that are open to walk-ins as well as hotel guests. On ordinary days plenty of people come up just for the view and a drink. Open every day, 10am to 10:30pm.
KiN does not publish drink prices or normal-day swim access. If swimming is the point, go on a party day, which KiN announces on its own site.

7. Social Club Rooftop Bar, Hôtel des Arts
Twenty-four floors up, with one of the best skyline views in the city and an infinity pool that the hotel states plainly is “for in-house guests only”. Come for the view and the happy hour, not a swim.
That happy hour is generous: 50% off by the glass, 3pm to 7pm every day, on a selection of beer, cocktails, wine, spirits and G&T, except on public holidays and special events. Opening hours are 3pm to midnight, until 1am on Friday and Saturday. Smart casual.

8. Vertical Sky Bar, Liberty Central Saigon Riverside
The 25th-floor bar at Liberty Central looks down the Saigon River, with an infinity pool alongside. The pool has been reported as for hotel guests only, so plan on drinking rather than swimming.
The reason to come is value. Happy hour is buy one get one free on signature cocktails and draught beer, 6pm to 8pm daily. There is salsa on Friday nights from 9:30pm and a live band on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Open 8:30am to midnight.

What a pool bar costs in Ho Chi Minh City
Hotel pool bars in the centre charge 200,000₫ to 300,000₫ for a cocktail, and the menu price is usually “++”, which means a service charge of around 5% and VAT on top. A beer is 100,000₫ to 150,000₫. If you want to swim at a hotel you are not staying in, budget 400,000₫ for a day pass at the Pullman, or effectively about 500,000₫ at Mia once its food and drink credit is taken off. At The Brix there is no pass. You swim as a customer, and happy hour plus the member discount make it the cheapest afternoon on this list.

Every bar here was checked as trading in October 2026. Prices, hours and pool rules come from each hotel’s or bar’s own website and menus, and where a hotel does not say whether outsiders can swim, we say so rather than guess. Two places from the previous version of this guide were removed: Aperitivo in Thao Dien has closed, and we could find no sign that Satsuma House is still trading.
The Brix is a Saigon Scene partner, which is why it is listed first and why members get a discount there. It also earned the spot: it is the only pool bar on this list where you can swim simply by ordering a drink.
