Best Burgers in Saigon: Where to Eat in 2026

The short answer: Chuck’s Burgers in Binh Thanh is still the one to beat — California-style, twelve years in, cheeseburgers from 160,000₫. If you want the patty smashed thin and lacy-edged, go to Bunz in Thu Duc instead. Everything else worth eating in this city is below.

Saigon’s burger scene has quietly become one of the best in Southeast Asia, and it splits into three camps: American diner classics, French-influenced gourmet builds, and the smash burger wave that arrived around 2023 and hasn’t slowed down. This guide covers ten places across District 1, Binh Thanh, Thao Dien and Thu Duc, what to order at each, and roughly what you’ll pay. Six of them give Saigon Scene members a discount.

How much is a burger in Saigon?

Budget roughly 160,000₫ for a good cheeseburger and 250,000–320,000₫ for a double or a gourmet build. Add 55,000–140,000₫ for sides. Three rough bands are worth knowing before you sit down:

• Everyday (150,000–180,000₫) — Chuck’s, Bunz, the Mad Roosta chicken burgers. A single patty, fries extra.
• Gourmet (180,000–250,000₫) — Marcel, Relish & Sons. Imported beef, table service, a proper sit-down meal.
• Sharing (260,000₫+) — doubles, the Mad Roosta Double Bomb, anything wagyu.

For comparison, a bánh mì on the street is 25,000–40,000₫. A burger in Saigon is a treat rather than a cheap lunch, and it is priced accordingly.

1. Chuck’s Burgers

46 Pham Viet Chanh, Ward 19, Binh Thanh (also 71 Pasteur, District 1) · open around midday to 8pm

Chuck’s has been open for over twelve years, which in Saigon restaurant terms is close to permanent. The style is California — thin patties, soft bun, plenty of sauce — and the comparison people reach for is In-N-Out. Beef is ground in-house.

The menu is short on purpose, and you can build your own from the toppings up. The straight cheeseburger starts at 160,000₫, the double at 260,000₫, and the chilli fries at 140,000₫ are a meal on their own. If you want to make a scene of it, they run a fifteen-patty Monster Burger challenge.

2. Bunz Smash Burgers

7 Street No. 17, Area B, An Phu An Khanh, Thu Duc

Bunz does one thing. The patty goes on the flat-top and gets pressed hard, so the edges catch and go lacy and crisp while the middle stays rare enough to matter. That is the whole proposition, and it is the right one.

The Smashburger and the West Coast Smash both start at 160,000₫. The West Coast version adds caramelised onions and is the better order. Fries are 60,000₫, milkshakes 120,000₫.

3. Eddie’s – New York Deli and Diner

71 Thao Dien, Thu Duc (also 73 Pasteur, District 1, and Phu My Hung, District 7)

A 1950s American diner transplanted to Saigon, and the most reliable place in the city for a burger at 9am. Beef is imported US, the sides are enormous, and the room is loud in a good way.

The Reuben Burger is the one that justifies the trip — a steak burger under smoky pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing, with fries or onion rings. The daily cheeseburger special is the cheaper way in.

4. The Wagon Wheel

200 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1

Straightforward American comfort food a short walk from Ben Thanh Market, which makes it the most convenient entry on this list if you’re staying in the centre. Nothing here is trying to be clever.

The Wagon Wheel Burger is a double patty with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and house sauce on toasted brioche. The BBQ version swaps in fried onions.

5. Le Café des Stagiaires

10 Street No. 54, Thao Dien, Thu Duc

Started by European hospitality interns and still run like a French-Belgian bar that happens to do a very good burger. You come for the terrace and the beer list; the burger is the reason you stay for a second round.

It’s the best of the entries on this list if what you actually want is an afternoon rather than a meal. Busiest on match days and Friday evenings.

6. 7 Bridges Brewing

15B/12 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe, District 1

A craft brewery that takes its burgers as seriously as its taps, tucked down an alley off Le Thanh Ton. The Brewmaster’s Burger pairs a beef patty with cheddar and caramelised onions, and the staff will tell you which of the house beers to drink with it — ask, because they’re right.

Order: Brewmaster’s Burger and whatever IPA is freshest.

7. Marcel Gourmet Burger

115 Calmette, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, District 1 (also Thao Dien) · 11am–10pm daily

The French end of the market: Australian beef, French technique, and a build that changes with what’s good. Marcel’s Le Smoky won best burger at the Saigon Burger Festival — Comté with tea leaves, grilled onions, shiitake relish and béarnaise on brioche — and it is still the thing to order.

Expect to pay in the 150,000–250,000₫ range. It’s a sit-down meal rather than a quick one.

8. Relish & Sons

2 Dang Huu Pho, Thao Dien, Thu Duc · 11am–10pm daily

The most ambitious kitchen on this list. Everything is handmade down to the dill pickles and the hot sauce, and there’s a Burger of the Month that gives regulars a reason to come back.

The wagyu burger with truffled potato and chimichurri ranch is the headline; the Iberico smash on a potato bun is the one to order if you want to understand why people rate this place. The magic mushroom vegan patty is a genuine option rather than an apology. Most burgers come with a soft drink included.

9. Mad Roosta

Level 2, 95 Hai Ba Trung, Ben Nghe, District 1 and 2E Truong Sa, Ward 19, Binh Thanh

Flame-grilled Australian Angus, whole-breast crispy chicken burgers, loaded fries and cold beer. The Binh Thanh branch looks over the canal, which makes it the better of the two for a slow evening.

The Chicken Cheddar starts at 175,000₫ and is the value pick. The Double Bomb at 315,000₫ is the one people photograph. Sides from 55,000₫.

Order: Chicken Cheddar, unless you’re sharing.

10. Brick & Barrel

56 Vo Thi Sau, Tan Dinh, District 1 · 10am–10pm Sun–Thu, until midnight Fri–Sat

Note the address — Brick & Barrel has moved from its old Calmette site. It’s a craft beer bar first, with beer towers, wood-fired pizza and sport on the screens, and the burgers hold up well against all of that.

Order the classic cheeseburger with wedges, or the BBQ bacon if you want something heavier. The onion rings have a following of their own.
