6 Best Office Lunch Spots in Saigon (2026): The 1-Hour Escape

Dulce de Saigon's sandwiches, Union Jack's bacon and egg roll, Bottega focaccia and a Bib Gourmand sit-down: 6 lunches worth leaving your desk for, with prices.

By Updated 8 min read

Fish and chips at Union Jack's in Thao Dien, one of the best office lunches in Saigon

The best office lunch in Saigon right now is a tiger bread sandwich from SANDWICH by Dulce, made on bread baked a few metres away that morning, at either of Dulce de Saigon’s two shops. If you work in Thảo Điền, Union Jack’s bacon and egg roll is the one our co-founder Nick rates above every other in the city. If you want a proper sit-down hour in District 1 with a glass of wine, book La Lola Saigon.

This is the guide to the 1-hour office escape: six places worth leaving your desk for, all reachable, ordered and finished inside a lunch break. The first two are Saigon Scene partners, so members get 10% off, and we always list partners first. The next three are Nick’s own regular lunch spots. Every price below comes from the venue’s own menu or ordering page, checked on 6 October 2026, and every address uses the ward names that replaced the districts in 2025.

1. Dulce de Saigon (SANDWICH by Dulce)

382/15 Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Bàn Cờ Ward (formerly Ward 5, District 3), three minutes’ walk from Tao Đàn Park. Second shop at 16 Đường số 54, An Khánh Ward (Thảo Điền). The sandwich counter runs 9am to 8pm every day in District 3, and the Thảo Điền shop is open 8am to 9pm. Orders on 0903 305 993.

Dulce made its name as an American-style bakery, and the cinnamon rolls and cheesecakes are still on the counter, but at lunchtime it is the sandwich counter that earns the trip. Everything goes on bread baked in-house through the day: tiger bread, the crackle-crusted loaf Saigon calls bánh mì da beo, or a soft olive-oil focaccia that gets pressed hot for the melts.

The Italian (245,000₫) stacks mortadella, salami and coppa with provolone and an Italian vinaigrette on tiger bread. The Smokin’ Club (190,000₫) is sous-vide chicken with smoked ham and smoked bacon. For something lighter, the Caprese (175,000₫) puts tomato, stracciatella and a pistachio pesto aioli on focaccia, and the Deviled Egg (140,000₫) is the cheapest of the fifteen. Build your own starts at 85,000₫ on the online order menu. A sandwich takes a few minutes, so this is the quickest escape on the list, and both shops have seating, wi-fi and card payment.

2. Union Jack’s Fish & Chips

10 Nguyễn Bá Lân, An Khánh Ward (formerly Thảo Điền, District 2). Open 9am to 10pm, closed on Wednesdays, last orders 9.30pm. Phone 0767 286 183.

A British chippy that has become a Thảo Điền institution, run for years by Matt Ryan. The fish and chips are the headline, with cod or halibut, mushy peas and curry sauce for dipping, but Nick’s lunch order here is the bacon and egg roll, which he rates the best in the city. It is quick, it is filling, and you are back at your desk well inside the hour. Mondays are bangers and mash, and the sausage rolls are worth taking back to the office.

Olly, who runs our partnerships, gives Union Jack’s 10 out of 10: “Good food, good people, good vibes.” Union Jack’s does not publish its prices online, so check the board when you order.

3. Bottega Thảo Điền

63 Thảo Điền, An Khánh Ward (formerly Thảo Điền, District 2). Open until 10pm; the opening time is not published.

An Italian deli on Thảo Điền’s main road that does one thing and does it well: sandwiches on focaccia it bakes every day. Ask for it toasted if you want it crunchy, or not toasted if you want it soft, which is the kind of choice the menu itself tells you to make. The focaccia with salami and cheese is 100,000₫ and the Parma ham and cheese is 115,000₫. Baguette, ciabatta and panini sandwiches run up to 260,000₫ for the specials, and you can design your own.

It is one of Nick’s regular lunches and the best-value entry here.

4. BARTELS

11A and 11B Thảo Điền, An Khánh Ward (formerly Thảo Điền, District 2), open 7am to 6pm. District 1 branch on the ground floor of the Sonatus Building, 15 Lê Thánh Tôn, Sài Gòn Ward (formerly Bến Nghé, District 1), open 7am to about 7pm.

A sourdough sandwich, coffee and juice bar from Thailand, established in 2020, with branches in Bangkok and Phuket and two in Saigon. The newer Saigon branch is on the ground floor of an office tower, which tells you who it is for. The sourdough is baked in-house, and the menu splits into open sandwiches on toast and grilled or classic sandwiches. The Reuben’s Cousin (245,000₫) is a grilled corned beef melt with Cheddar, mozzarella and pickled jalapeños, and the Stacked (185,000₫) layers fried eggs, Cheddar and bacon between slices of sourdough. The salads run 210,000₫ to 230,000₫.

Prices on BARTELS’ own Vietnam menu include VAT and add a 5% service charge. Another of Nick’s picks, and the one to choose if your office is near Lê Thánh Tôn.

5. Kashew Cheese Deli

14 Trần Ngọc Diện, An Khánh Ward (formerly Thảo Điền, District 2), inside Saigon Concept. Open 8am to 5pm. Second branch at The Ascentia, Lô 3 Nguyễn Lương Bằng, District 7.

The original Kashew started in an 8-square-metre shack selling cashew cheese, sandwiches and milk coffee, and it still makes its own plant-based cheeses from Vietnamese cashews. Lunch is the paninis: the La Vita Bella with pesto is 190,000₫ and the Kream & Mushroom is 210,000₫. The deli sits in a large garden, which makes it the calmest hour on this list.

It is the vegan pick, and a good one for meat-eaters too. It closes at 5pm, so this is strictly a daytime escape.

6. La Lola Saigon

82 Lý Tự Trọng, Bến Thành Ward (formerly District 1). Open every day, 10.30am to 11pm. Reservations on 0987 350 006.

This is the one for a proper sit-down lunch, the kind with a glass of wine. La Lola is chef Julio Gomez’s Mediterranean restaurant and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026. From its own menu: gambas al ajillo (270,000₫) or hummus with fresh pita (170,000₫) to start, then rigatoni amatriciana (230,000₫), Moroccan chicken with cous cous (265,000₫) or the squid ink risotto (290,000₫). Wine by the glass starts at 170,000₫, and the Golden Hour runs buy one, get one free on selected glasses from 2pm to 6pm.

Budget an hour and a quarter if you order a starter. La Lola is not a partner, but its sister restaurant in Thảo Điền, Mamacita Thảo Điền, is, and it is moving to the same menu.

How we picked these

Dulce de Saigon and Union Jack’s lead because they are Saigon Scene partners: they give members 10% off, and we list partners first in every guide where they genuinely fit. Both were confirmed as current partners on 6 October 2026. Bottega, BARTELS and Kashew Cheese Deli are Nick’s own regular lunches and are not partners. La Lola Saigon is here because it is the best sit-down lunch within reach of District 1’s offices, and its menu was checked against the restaurant’s own website on 5 October 2026.

Every price comes from the venue’s own menu or ordering page, checked on 6 October 2026. Opening hours come from the venues’ own sites where they publish them, and from their Foody listings where they do not. Union Jack’s and Bottega do not publish full prices or opening times, and we have said so rather than guess. This page replaces our older guide to office sandwich delivery, which listed places we could no longer confirm were trading.

· Co-founder, partnerships

Olly co-founded Saigon Scene with Nick and looks after partnerships, which means he spends most of his week inside the bars, restaurants, cafés and gyms that give members an offer. Ten years in Saigon and he still eats out most nights. He has a soft spot for the independents, the places run by somebody who is usually standing behind the counter when you walk in.

How we write these guides

Saigon Scene is based in Ho Chi Minh City. We visit, check addresses and opening hours against each venue’s own channels, and update guides when places close. Partner venues give our members a discount, and they are marked on the page. Last checked October 2026.
